Some collections are inspired by places. This one was born from one.
This summer, Lokomotiva left the city behind and returned to the endless golden fields of Slavonia, where our latest collection, (W)HEAT, was presented in an open-air runway unlike any we have created before.
Set amongst the wheat fields surrounding Hotel Materra in Čepin, the collection became part of the landscape itself. The silence of the plains, the warm evening light and the rhythm of nature created a soft setting where every silhouette could stand out and belong at the same time. More than a location, Materra represents a philosophy we deeply connect with, one that celebrates authenticity, wellbeing, craftsmanship and a slower, more meaningful way of living.
For our founder and creative director, Lana Puljić, this collection is also a deeply personal return. Although Zagreb has been her home, part of her story has always belonged to Slavonia. Childhood memories, family gatherings, traditional customs and the unmistakable warmth of the region have quietly shaped her creative language for years. (W)HEAT is our way of saying thank you to the place where many of those memories began.
At the heart of the collection remains Lokomotiva's signature tailoring. This season we joined sharp, timeless suits created for individuals with character and fluid dresses, elegant lace silhouettes and shimmering jumpsuits that echo the golden landscape surrounding the runway. Sequins catch the last rays of the setting sun, recalling both the endless wheat fields of Slavonia and the region's rich heritage of golden dukati.
Handcrafted gold embroidery, made in traditional Slavonian technique zlatovez, celebrates one of Croatia's most treasured artisanal techniques while translating it into a contemporary visual language. Alongside it, intricate crochet garments, entirely handmade in our atelier, reflect countless hours of craftsmanship, patience and dedication. Together, these pieces create a collection where structure meets softness, and heritage naturally finds its place in the present.
Nothing about this collection was created to imitate tradition. Instead, it speaks its language.
The runway itself became an extension of that idea. There was no separation between fashion and landscape, between heritage and modernity, between memory and the present moment. Wheat fields replaced concrete. Sunset replaced spotlights. Nature became the scenography.
Moments like these are never created alone.
